Canadian Memorial at Vimy Ridge, France

This thing really needs to be seen in person to be believed. It is an amazing tribute to Canadians in World War I.

I got *really* lucky; we arrived just as the crowds had left. There were only two people on the monument with myself and my mother - but they managed to be out-of-the-way when I shot this.

I took more photos at higher resolution; I'll post those eventually... There's some really good sculpture detail I managed to capture as well.

Awesome photo. I think when we went there they had the monument covered up because they were working on it or something.
